I actually cook squid in mustard sauce with sauteed potatoes quite often… don’t know why I didn’t share it with you before… But better late than never 🙂
My boyfriend likes seafood but it’s not so used to it. So I try to “educate” him as much as possible. So far I’ve introduced a few new food from the sea but I have to adapt to him. As he didn’t grew up eating so much fish and seafood, there’s a slight difficulty in dealing with some ingredients when it shows up in the plate. So I’m always trying to make it as easy for him as possible. Squid are a great way to eat seafood as it doesn’t involve bones or peeling or hard shells. And there’s lots of ways to make it taste really good.
I grew up near the sea in an area where it was normal to buy fish almost everyday. Ok, seafood was more of a treat for special days mostly because of the price. But fish was part of our daily diet. And that included cuttlefish and squid which we all loved. My mum usually grills it or makes really nice stews with vegetables. Always a hit with the family 🙂
I’ve tried several recipes (which I will show you, don’t worry) and it’s been a success. Not only because they were tasty but also easy to eat. It’s all about finding what works best for each person 🙂 and this squid in mustard sauce with sauteed potatoes was no exception… clean plates in the end of the meal 🙂
