This time I decided to try something different – Grilled polenta with sausages and tomato sauce – at least for me… Polenta is not common in Portugal at all. In one of our island we have a similar dish made of corn meal but in the mainland we don’t really cook it a lot.
Apparently polenta is a lot more popular in Italy. As my boyfriend is half italian and was raised there, I though it would be nice to cook it for him. What I forgot is that his mother is Maltese so some of those less common and more traditional Italian dishes weren’t part of his diet while growing up. But I still decided to cook grilled polenta with sausages and tomato sauce. I also made sure I was using Italian sausages to make it more authentic 🙂
And I think it was a successful trial – the boyfriend liked it and so did I 🙂
