Now this chicken with onion soup and beer is the easiest recipe ever 🙂 I’ve made it lots of times and will continue to… And it’s another use for instant soups… like I said before, I don’t really like to use these packs of soup for what they are meant to be: soups… I always use it in some sort of sauce to either give it flavour or to thicken the sauce. And it always turns out well… So this is a technique that I totally recommend 🙂
In this case, the soup is one of the main ingredients. Then the beer complements the flavour. By simmering it slowly you allow the alcohol from the beer to evaporate and you are left with lots of flavours such as barley. And this together with the onion taste of the soup, makes a delicious sauce that goes really well with the chicken.
Such an easy recipe is ideal for a weekday dinner. You arrive from a long day at work and sometimes time or mood to cook is just not there. So get yourself these 3 ingredients out of the cupboards and dinner will cook while you relax or get on with other house chores… just perfect 🙂
