Welcome to to my new adventure – ONCE UPON A PAN 🙂 and thank you for your visit…

Here I will tell you all about my food, recipes and experiences in the hope that you will find it useful. Maybe you even decide to give it a try 🙂 just feel free to do so and let me know what you think…

 

 

Now a bit about me 🙂about me

I can’t say that I always loved food… But something changed along along the years and not only I learned how to enjoy eating but also I found the love for cooking.

I don’t belong to one of those families where the women spend the days in the kitchen and have all sorts of secrets and tricks to share. My grandmother and mother always said that they cook because the family has to eat and not because they love to do it. Only my aunty has the “kitchen bug” in her and I believe I got it from her.

Even if cooking was not their main joy, I still learned all the basics from my family. I remember seeing them  cooking and being curious about what was going on. And when I was old enough to be allowed freedom in the kitchen, I started to try my own things.

My mum saw my enthusiasm and started buying me recipe books, first with basic recipes and then more elaborated ones. And then the internet showed up and I had access to everything I wanted.

I love to look for new recipes but also enjoy traditional ones. But whichever recipe I choose I always end up putting my own touch.

The time I’ve spent in other countries showed me different cuisines and also world dishes that I hadn’t tried yet. I leaned how to eat and also cook different recipes but I also learned how to adapt my home country recipes as sometimes I couldn’t find the same ingredients.

Now I’m back to Mediterranean dishes and ingredients but always with a touch of the rest of the World in it 🙂

My kitchen is a combination of flavours and different experiences that I decided to share in the hope that someone out there will try it and enjoy it as much as I do 🙂
